Why is my dryer vent still slow after a cleaning?

Usually because the duct itself is damaged, not dirty. Cleaning removes lint. It does not fix a crushed transition hose, a separated joint in the attic, or a flapper rusted shut. In shallow second-floor closets the foil hose gets pinched flat when the machine is pushed back. Air stalls there no matter how clean the run is. That is a repair, not a cleaning.

Repair work here splits by run type. Mid-century Duval ranches often exhaust through a block wall cavity to a hood near grade. Those hoods take bird and wasp nests, and the sheet metal behind them corrodes. Newer subdivisions with vertical closet stacks to a roof cap fail differently: humid exhaust cools in the attic, and lint packs into a wet gray mat that will not brush loose. Coastal homes near the beaches get stuck flapper doors from salt air.

What we replace most: transition hose swapped to rigid or semi-rigid metal, resealed and strapped joints, new exterior hood with a working damper, roof cap with a screen removed instead of left to trap pine pollen and oak catkins.

Check it yourself. Run the dryer and hold your hand at the outside hood. Weak or warm-damp air means the duct, not the machine.
